About the event
A 7-session affinity series for people who identify as bi/multi-racial, mixed, or "other". During this journey, you will experience:
- A space of validation for the unique pain & privilege inherent in your raced experience
- An opportunity to deepen your racial consciousness and leverage your unique racial positioning for your freedom and that of others
- Intentional time in community with those who share your racial navigation
This is for you if:
- You identify as bi/multi-racial, mixed and/or "other".
- You desire community with those who share your unique racial experience.
- You’re ready to explore deeply within yourself & re-connect with and reclaim more of who you truly are.
- You're able & willing to be vulnerable and embrace discomfort.
This is not for you if:
- You have children, a life partner, etc. who identify as bi/multi-racial/mixed/"other" but you yourself do not
- You resist understanding whiteness/white privilege and recognizing how both show up in your life.
- You prefer to "sit & get" rather than actively engage.
Meet our facilitators:
Leidene King
A racially ambiguous Black girl born to a Chinese American Mom and African American Dad. A teacher, facilitator of consciousness transformation, and a woman in process. To learn more about Leidene, visit www.leideneking.com.
Tracy Myers
A multi-racial person mixed with Osage, Filipino, and White. A mother, coach, healer, and storyseeker that loves mac n cheese and continues to redefine her authentic self. To learn more about Tracy, visit www.middle-waters.com/about.
A note on pricing:
We recognize and acknowledge that our proximity to white as a color, culture, and consciousness is an advantage, because of this we offer 5 price points. Your learning in this experience has already begun. A part of the learning is your fee selection based on your analysis of your relation to white as a color, culture, and consciousness.
For people with less proximity to white (people who’ve been systemically disadvantaged by racism)
For people with more proximity to white (people who've been systemically advantaged by racism)
Here are some examples to support your process: Black woman in CEO position of corporation - might select mid-range proximity due to white corporate culture. Native man, recognizing they are white-passing - might select a high range due to white as a color.
Considering all of this, please choose the pricing that best works for you and reflects your proximity to white as a color, culture, consciousness.
